FAQs

Karuna is a Nepali word that means a combination of love and compassion.
Karuna Care got its start in Nepal but is planning to expand internationally, first to South Asia and then beyond as God leads.

The sponsorship program is truly a comprehensive solution that aims to provide children facing challenging circumstances with a solid educational foundation. These children come from backgrounds that are often tough, such as those who might be begging, have parents involved in sex work, have survived trafficking, or reside in slums. In these cases, the Karuna Care Initiative (KCI) steps in to make a real difference in their lives.

KCI’s involvement goes beyond the surface. They work tirelessly to rescue these children and then find a way to reconnect them with their families or provide them with a safe home. The beauty of this program lies not only in the rescue efforts but also in the heartfelt conversations with parents or guardians to ensure a supportive family environment.

But that’s just the beginning. KCI ensures that these children are given the opportunity to attend school, providing them with the necessary school supplies and covering fees. Each morning, the kids gather at the Karuna center, a place that acts as a bridge between their homes and school. Here, they not only receive a nourishing lunch but also a sense of belonging.

The educational journey continues as these children head to school, where they gain knowledge and experiences that open up new horizons for them. After school hours, they return to the center, where dedicated educators offer homework assistance and support. Beyond academics, the center buzzes with exciting extracurricular activities that bring joy and enrichment into their lives.

As the day draws to a close, dinner is provided at the center, wrapping up a day filled with learning, growth, and fun. This program is more than just schooling; it’s a transformative experience that empowers these children, helping them rise above their challenging circumstances and providing them with a solid foundation for a brighter future.
